BikeTrial is an individual sport discipline that tests the riders' ability on how well they are able to ride their bikes over obstacles.  Riders are “Observed” riding over specially marked area’s and penalty points are given each time any part of their body touches the ground or the obstacle. It is ridden on mountain bikes and special bikes made for this sport.

Most competitions take place in attractive outdoor settings. The obstacles can be either natural (eg boulders, banks, streams) or artificial (eg wooden pallets, tyres).  Like those that might be found in urban areas the aim is to go through each "section" in a limited time, without the rider himself having any contact with the obstacle

A huge thanks to all who attended yesterday to make our 1st round a huge success. We may not have had a huge entry list but we certainly got all the best riders in the UK turning out. And for the first time ever a full compliment of observers without any pressure special thanks to you all ,Thanks you all for all your support and kind comments. It really was a pleasure this weekend.

Entries for the EUROPEAN BIKETRIAL CHAMPIONSHIP in Belgium May 31st/June1st can be handed to Brian MAtthews at the Kelly Farm 1st British BikeTrial Championship Round on the 27th April

Selection for the BIU World Champsionships will take place following the first round of the Official BiketrialUK British Championships on 27 April. Any rider wishing to compete must send in their application form to the delegate by 27th April 2008. World Elite riders qualify automatically but will still need to complete an application form to register. An official BIU team top will be provided free of charge to all riders who are chosen to compete.

Anyone wishing to ride in the World Biketrial Masters Cup in Shanghi, China on the 2nd May 2008 should contact Barry deeks asap for an entry. Closing date is April 11th. Full Info on the news page
